Text Codes are used in the Show Text event command. Game messages are all handled by the same thing, so it's likely the scripts that are affecting how text is displayed. While RPG Maker MV Ace certainly improved the message system a whole lot, it wouldnt hurt to add in a few more features, such as name windows, converting textcodes to write out the icons and/or names of items, weapons, armours, and more in quicker fashion. Like with color, what you have to do to change text is pretty simple, in VX Ace, put \fn (where X is the font you want the text to change to) before the text you want to change the font and for MV it is the same process but instead of \fn it is \fn.
